During this cold season, it is important to take extra care of our health. Try these ten quick ways to boost our immune system and our moods during the Holiday Season!
  1. Drink more water. Water will help flush out toxins and feel better. Drink one cup of room temperature water with lemon upon waking to start the day off hydrated.
  2. Chop up a head of garlic, let it air out for 10-20 minutes, and add it to just about everything you eat that day (sandwiches, soups, salads, etc.)  Garlic is natures antibiotic and will clear up any sickness you are dealing with quickly and effectively.
  3. Drink some Jnantik Ginger Tea. Cut up fresh ginger and simmer it with hot water for 10-20 minutes. Drink with honey, lemon, and a dash of cayenne pepper if you can handle it and your head cold and sinuses will clear up instantly!
  4. Buy live apple cider vinegar (Braggs Brand, for example) and drink a teaspoon with ½ cup of water a couple times a day. Apple Cider vinegar can detox your body, reduce heartburn, boost energy and immune system, aid in weight loss, and alkalize your body!
  5. Avoid coffee, sugar, gluten, and dairy. These foods are very inflammatory and mucus forming in the body. If you tend to drink coffee every day, switch out to  Jnantik Mayan Coffee Alternative when you aren't feeling well, which consists of the roasted and ground Mayan Seed. The Mayan Seed contains many important nutrients and is rich in fiber, calcium, magnesium, potassium, folate, and antioxidants.  Traditionally, this seed was used by native people and traditional healers as a remedy to treat a wide variety of ailments, which included colitis, arthritis, osteoporosis, asthma, infertility and lactation problems.. It is very anti-inflammatory.
  6. Add in anti-inflammatory foods like green leafy vegetables, turmeric, berries and the Jnantik Mayan Seed
  7. Eat some citrus. Citrus is in season during this time for a reason. If you have citrus trees in your neighborhood, go foraging for some fruit and eat up! Add lime/lemon juice to your water and on anything you eat for a quick boost.
  8. Get some fresh air and sunshine. Being inside with the heater on can stuff you up pretty quickly. Make sure to take some time everyday to sit in the sun, or go for a brisk walk, run or bike ride, even if you have to bundle up. This will also give you energy.
  9. Do something that makes you happy. It is a stressful time of year, do something that helps you beat stress like meeting up with a good friend, reading an uplifting book, going out dancing, or spending some extra time with the family. Do not try to over plan your time. Staying in and chilling out may be just what you need. Cleaning and organizing your personal space can also be great therapy during this time.
  10. Clean your indoor air using indoor plants and diffusing essential oils like cinnamon, lemon and eucalyptus.
  11. Add some probiotics to your diet. Good bacteria in, bad bacteria out. Probiotics can be taken in pill form, coconut water kefir and in fermented foods like raw saurkraut. You will start to feel the immune boosting effects quickly.

I hope that these quick tips help you in fighting off sickness and stress during the Holiday Season!

Blessings,
